~Baby Shower ideas and photos~

My friend and I did a Winnie the Pooh theme for my sister~in~law, and here are some pics, I just love the baby Pooh and Tigger on the napkins, their was even a matching table cloth and plates :)

.
O.K. now this 'Amanda' print I ordered off of ebay, you can pick the name you want and pick from an assortment of characters and it gives the names meaning. I know it did not go with the Pooh theme, but the mommy that the shower was for really loves the Care Bears also.

Here is the cake. We ordered it from Costco. I think they make the best cakes. The baby Pooh and Tigger was added by me. The saying on the cake says"Hip Hip Pooh ray, baby Amanda is on her way!" So if you know of someone who is planning a Pooh baby shower and needs a cake saying, you can pass it on, I found it on the net also.

Here is a pic I took of the cake table. I got some of the ideas from the net, like the little white tree branches put into terra cotta flower pots that I painted pink with terra cotta paint you can get at the craft store (like Michael's~Jo Ann's) then I cut out Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore from left over quilt fabric (that I made the quilt with) and just glued them onto the pots. I wish I would have gotten a close up pic of the branches. I glued little bits of tissue paper to look like leaves and glued little pieces of confetti on them, etc. Then I took baby food jars that I had used for my little boy, washed them up really good (took the paper off of course) and then painted the lids pink with spray paint (but I learned it would be better if you use some sandpaper lightly on the lid before you spray them, because a few did chip) and then I used a clear coat spray over that to help prevent paint chipping. I then used baby theme stickers with clear back grounds and placed a sticker on each jar. Inside the jars I used colored tissue papers and then placed those tiny little mints that look like hersheys kisses with tiny little white speckles on them, they are sooooo good and just melt in your mouth. It is a good idea to do these things a few months in advance

Here is a pic of the invitation and some of the other invites already in envelopes ready to be mailed out...just thought they were cute.

Here is a pic of my sis~in~law with the Pooh rag quilt I made for her (well...the baby :)

Just a few of the balloons...

Sugar cookies I made in the shape of little hands and little feet (with the help of cookie cutters of course: )

The pics below are not things that I have done, they are ideas that I found off of the internet and after this baby shower was done : ) I just thought they were great ideas to maybe help someone out. The frame below is actually not a frame, it is a photo mat that you have all of the guests sign and then give it to the mom with a picture of her in the center as a keepsake.
